Here it is October, temperatures are in the low 50s, and I’m doing a post on ice cream. Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, the Vanilla Caramel Fudge variety. Compared to flavors like Chubby Hubby and Cherry Garcia and Phish Food, Vanilla Caramel Fudge sounds pretty tame, doesn’t it? Uninspired, even.
Yeah, maybe it is. But only until you shovel a spoonful of the stuff into your mouth. That’s all it takes to transform you into a shivering, bleary eyed, drooling addict. One so weak and desperate for the taste that, time and again, you go way too far way too fast. And next thing you know? Massive brain freeze.
The pain of it is unbearable, crippling. You can’t move or think or breathe, all you can do is hold your head and moan. You rock back and forth begging for it to stop. It doesn’t.
That’s the stage where I am now with my latest brain freeze (the one I call blog funk) — the begging and moaning stage. I don’t want to get my hopes up; I’ve been wrong so many times before, you see, but I have a good feeling about this one. A feeling that a thaw might be imminent. I repeat, might.
How great would that be? Every bit as great as Ben & Jerry’s Vanilla Caramel Fudge. Here’s hoping.

Hey, I’m not the only one who’s thinking about Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. There’s a whole group of very fine bloggers who have dedicated their time and talent in the worthy pursuit of free ice cream. First and foremost is Lenore Diane, the mastermind behind this project. Why not spend a few moments visiting some of the fun and interesting blogs listed below. Quick, before they melt.

I’m so glad this is over. My craving gene is working overtime. Great post. (sigh)

That’s two of us, Kim. But at least you can run it off. With my coordination I’ll have to stumble it off — that takes longer.
You, by the way, put me to shame. (double sigh)

You nailed my obsession, right there. It kinda makes me wonder what it’d be like having dinner with you. I bet you’re a tad rowdy. Okay quick, describe your favorite food!

Rowdy? More like loud and disruptive, what with all the Heimlich maneuvering and shooting milk through my nose.
My favorite food, though, is peach pie. Or Rice Krispie Treats. Or mac and cheese. Or popcorn. Or fudgsicles. What’s yours? Then let’s meet for for dinner at a weird buffet : ) Deal?

Brain freeze…maybe that’s the cure for block. Pass me a pint and a slurpee.

Wouldn’t that be a miracle? But a pint and a slurpee? Wow, I’d need an ambulance I’m afraid.

I’m thinking a big mug of hot chocolate with a scoop of Vanilla Caramel Fudge melting slowly on the top is just what the doctor ordered to combat brain freeze.
You’re welcome.

That is the best idea I’ve heard today!
I might just add some Bailey’s Irish Cream to my hot chocolate. But that’s just me. :)

Oooooooooh, I like that idea, too — the Bailey’s. Why couldn’t I have been born smart like you guys?
Bailey’s comin’ up! Thanks for stopping by, Jackie.

I think Jackie’s on to something with the Bailey’s. Is there a B&J flavor like that to go with this concoction?

Same here. The day I planned to do my research it hit 54 in Dallas! Still…who can resist all those flavors? Bring on the brain freeze.

Hi, Georgette. It’s a small price to pay for all that deliciousness, isn’t it? Especially with a brain as small as mine. Thanks for the visit, it was very nice of you.

Ben & Jerry’s is the stuff of inspiration, Lisa! I am so happy you participated. The brain freeze is worth it, too. So very worth it. I’m thinking a pint a day will do wonders for your funk, too. :)
Like a pint of Ben & Jerry’s … your posts are so fun to read, one reads it so fast, and the next thing you know … it’s over. *sigh* You’ll make more though, right??

It was good of you to drop by, thanks.
