: don’t bother with long term plans :

futurismWe won’t be here long.

In less than one week, a single unstable, self-absorbed individual has shoved civilization closer to annihilation. One person. Thanks to Donald Trump, the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists today moved the Doomsday Clock ahead by thirty seconds. It now stands at 2½ minutes to midnight.

The Republican Party, meanwhile, does nothing. They smile. They wave for the cameras. They posture and preen. All their moral outrage and indignation gone silent now that they have what they’ve wanted all along: total control. What do they do with it, all their new power?

They step aside as a pompous lunatic dismantles a democracy. They look away while he muzzles the EPA and the Interior Department and scientists and knowledge and logic and reason. The GOP counts their money. You see, even though they can’t pander or be sycophantic enough to please the demagogue in charge, they’re trying.

After all, Mexicans and Muslims and political correctness are the clear and imminent threats. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’d like some time alone to kiss my ass goodbye. God have mercy on us all.

        1. Aw, thanks! That’s kind of you. I’ll keep looking — they have to be around here somewhere. Both the peace and aspirin.
