The last I heard, ten inches of snow had fallen since last night. More is expected tonight and tomorrow, but weathermen are notorious alarmists. I don’t trust their predictions anymore than I trust horoscopes. Even so, there’s a parking ban and just about everything is closed up tight and / or canceled — schools, churches, … Continue reading : getting snowed :

There’s no cabin involved. It’s just me and I’ve been trapped in hundreds of pounds of clothes since October. This is Neptune. It’s a lovely blue color. The average temperature hovers around -200º Celsius and it’s 2.8 billion miles from the Sun. Brrr. This is Earth. I’m a lovely blue color and I’m flipping f-f-f-f-freezing, man. Copyright © 2014 Publikworks

It’s what they call a wintry mix at the weather bureau. And should not be confused with Chex mix, the holiday favorite. … Continue reading : for the last time, this isn’t pretty :

World Penguin Day

A celebration of the coolest dudes in nature.April 25, 2022
Did you know penguins have knees? They do. And although they can't fly, they can swim really fast. 11 - 15 mph fast . Most impressively, penguins use sign language to communicate with each other. Probably to complain about humans. Because, according to them, we walk funny.

We’re all hurtling through space at 1,040 mph with the earth’s rotation. I’m the one in the backseat with my head out the window. May I borrow a comb?
