August 4, 2019August 11, 2019 ~ the whirly girl ~ 6 Comments

I can’t stop the world from changing in ways I don’t like or leaving me in the dust as it marches past. There, short and to the point, a perfect way to admit you're powerless. I am, you know, I’m powerless. See how easy it is? I didn’t waste time or money on elaborate preparations, … Continue reading : here’s a declaration of weakness :

It’s a popular destination, success is. Everyone’s in a big rush to get there, get unpacked, and start enjoying the swanky accommodations. And who can blame them? There’s a hot tub and room service, vibrating beds, everything. However, the road isn’t well-marked. Between construction detours and confusing road signs, folks tend to get lost. I … Continue reading : on the road to success :

I truly believe I’ve done great things.  So fabulous. I have better posts than anyone, really, really very popular posts. Did you see the crowd? The people love me; lots of them follow me. Many more than follow that overrated Meryl Streep. No blogger has accomplished what I have, but I’m fighting fake reality. What … Continue reading : the most successful blog in history :

Throughout our lifetimes, we’re offered many opportunities to fail. And you know me, I don’t skimp. I grabbed every single one -- from giant flamers to dainty piffles -- and gave it a fair shot. They mostly shot back, a phenomenon known as backfiring. Well, no more. Starting right here, right now, right out of the gate, … Continue reading : resolutions for the underachiever :

Of course not, there's a hot tub and room service and everything. However, the road is not well-marked. “If your ship hasn’t come in -- swim out to it.” -- Mary Engelbreit Good Lord, why has no one thought of that before? Such a simple, obvious idea. Take charge of your own destiny, be proactive. Yes! Stop waiting for luck to come calling, chase it down. I feel so flipping empowered. Imagine the … Continue reading : deep thought for today :

WELCOME!

Limerick of the Month

I bought a new Hoover today,
Plugged it in in the usual way,
Switched it on — what a din;
It sucked everything in,
Now I’m homeless with no place to stay.

World Penguin Day

A celebration of the coolest dudes in nature.April 25, 2022
Did you know penguins have knees? They do. And although they can't fly, they can swim really fast. 11 - 15 mph fast . Most impressively, penguins use sign language to communicate with each other. Probably to complain about humans. Because, according to them, we walk funny.
